Izzy gave me her first chuckle today while I was bouncing her on my lap. The video is posted on our YouTube page, but I will also include it on this blog:

Just wanted anyone who actually checks the blogs to know that I finally posted new pictures from March, April and May to the Picasa site… just click “gallery” on the menu bar at the top of this page :)

I just posted a video to YouTube:

Izzy got a new mirror today for her crib, since she seems to enjoy looking at herself so much (thank you Great-Great Aunt Barb & Great-Great Uncle Larry!). She enjoyed it for more than an hour, including batting at it and scooting around a bit in the crib with all her kicking. You also have to notice that she is already twirling her hair around her finger!

So, I was reading my Parenting magazine this month and found something too cute and too true not to share with all of you out there that might actually read this :) ….

4 Ways Kids Are Like Peeps:

1. They’re sweet, though almost always a bit sticky.

2. You can give them a little squeeze if they’re yours - but not if they’re a stranger’s.

3. They’re known to cause stubborn belly overhang.

4. It can be hard to stop at one, but after two or three, the mere thought of having another may make you queazy.

Izzy is doing just fine, currently sleeping (she does this a lot). I am feeling better all the time, although I am a bit nervous of next week when my mom goes home and I am left on my own to get two kids out the door at 8 am… heaven only knows how moms do it earlier than this or with more kids!

So, I am pretty sure everyone has already heard, but it is my turn to shout it from the mountain top (or hill top since there are no mountains around here!)…

Isabelle Josephine was born Monday, March 17th at 10:31am, weighing in at 8 pounds 14 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Mom and baby are doing just fine - labor was pretty easy on both of them. We returned home on Wednesday, healthy and happy to be home. Izzy is just perfect, but I am a little biased. :)

Big brother Zander is thrilled to finally have his sister here, but maybe a touch disappointed that she is not ready to play yet. When coming to the hospital for the first time, he brought along HIS camera to document everything (including the building on the way in) and told everyone he met in the halls that he was here to see his baby sister. When he talked to the lady at the front desk, she asked him if he knew his baby sister’s name and he said “Cinderella”… by the time we left on Wednesday, the story had spread through the hospital and we were recognized on the way out!

Hospital portraits can be found at http://www.our365.com/, you just need our last name, Moundsview as the city and MN as the state. Of course, we will continue to upload photos on our Picasa page, just bear with us if it sometimes takes a while… we did just have a baby after all! ;)
